Seasonal Plume revamp

Here is yet another revamp of Seasonal Plume, as I mentioned I was feeling rather disenchanted with my previous layout. This one is cleaner and more streamlined, with the focus back on the content. I’ve also finally upgraded WordPress, which was quite overdue! Some other changes include:

  1. I’ve removed the Snippets and Quotes categories. They’re very rarely updated, and they only serve as noise, mostly. In that regard, there are no more aside entries.
  2. Twitter! I’ve added my most recent three tweets to my sidebar.
  3. All books in the library now lead to the Amazon product page. It was getting increasingly difficult customizing each template for the Now Reading plugin, so I did away with it.

There might be a few quirks in IE7 and IE6, especially the latter. I hope to get to work on them fairly soon — I don’t have a Windows machine or VM yet on my MacBook, hence it will have to wait for a bit. Feel free to let me know if you come across problems!

    Thanks! :D Funny how I’ve been sitting on two other layouts for the longest time, but this one, which I started only yesterday, got implemented :D

    Thanks, Julie! Yeah–I guess that goes to show how I felt about the previous layouts I was trying to work with for the revamp (I went through two). I generally am able to get something up quickly, but obviously the previous layouts weren’t working for me.

    OMG! Hi Angela, I visited seasonal plume today, after a long gap, and noticed - everything. It’s good to change every once-in-a-while and nice to know you feel good about it; the new seasonal plume layout.

    Your previous layout had a little something that made seasonal plume more friendlier. Was it those tiny little hand-drawings or was it that notebook-style lining?

    Tried searching archive.org for a snapshot of your previous version. Only got a way older version.

    Seasonal Plume’s new footer looks cool and the entire layout is colorful. Nice.

    Thanks, Arvind! The previous layout was “friendlier”, yes, but it wasn’t too conducive to me blogging, as it felt cluttered and all over the place :X
